Mystery of the Honey-toting Gymnasts
Thursday, September 11, 2008
When it comes to loving honey, Winnie the Pooh ain't
got nothin' on Olympic gymnasts. Eagle-eyed viewers of
NBC's gymnastics coverage have noticed the consistent
presence of a honey bottle in, or around, the gymnast's
chalk bucket. Collectively, they'd like to know what a
kitchen staple is doing amongst pommel horses, uneven
bars and Martha Karolyi.

problem until someone told me to take bee pollen. I
took 550 milligrams twice daily and haven’t had any
flashes for years. I hope you can pass this on.

Quickie Book Review: The Mystery of the Honeybees' Secret
Saturday, July 05, 2008
"The Mystery of the Honeybees'
Secret" (Three Cousins Detective Club) by Elspeth
Campbell Murphy (Author), Joe Nordstrom
(Illustrator)
ISBN-13: 978-1556618505
"The Mystery of the Honeybees’ Secret" is part of the Three Cousins Detective Club series. A charming read for the Young Readers set, Sarah-Jane Cooper and her cousins put on beekeeper outfits and visit a neighbor, who keeps bees as a hobby. He shows them how to watch the bees without upsetting them. But then the cousins spot a stranger snooping around the hives and another stranger asks questions about the bees. What are these men up to? To keep the hives safe, the cousins must find out.

picture this past month. So many people want to know

bees begins. These mini educational lectures have been
so satisfying to spread the word about our dear little
friends.

The Perfect Bee-House?
Wednesday, February 20, 2008
This building was initially an experimental bee-house
placed in Finsbury Park, London. It was funded by an
agency charged with looking into the country's policy
in keeping bees. 99% of all bees in the UK are kept
solely by amateurs and beekeeping generally is on the
decline. This is obviously very concerning to the
government as bee pollination contributes greatly to
the country's economy. Read

World Famous Beekeeper Passes Away
Friday, January 11, 2008
Sir Edmund Percival Hillary, a world famous beekeeper,
passed away today. Along with his brother Rex, Sir
Edmund began keeping honey bees in his native New
Zealand because it allowed him to do some mountain
climbing during the winter months (which would be the
summer months in our hemisphere).
He was also relatively well-known for being one of the first climbers, along with Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953.
