I also wanted to pass along this link: AltEn crisis | Sierra Club if anyone is interested in all the latest news, data, and updates on AltEn. A small group of concerned citizens and local conservation partners (including myself) have met weekly for the past 4 years, and everything AltEn has been archived by them on this site. 

For those interested in donating directly to our bee lab, here’s our donation link (nufoundation.org/Beelab). These funds are used to support student-led research and professional development and ALL donated funds go to the bee lab (no portion of these funds are taxed or taken away by the university).

For those interested in donating to the beekeeping industry, I recommend supporting Project apis m (https://www.projectapism.org/) which was instrumental in providing quick funding support to launch our beekill investigation and for my student (Rogan Tokach’s) project examining the impacts on queen rearing. 

For those interested in getting more engaged and involved, here are some great active groups.

Protecting Pollinators | Pollinator Stewardship Council: This is a small group of beekeepers and scientists that actively work to develop pollinator statements, provide regulatory comments, and are really trying to make people aware of these issues. The most recent effort by PSC is the Public comment letter we submitted to EPA regarding treated seeds (linked here: Advocacy Update- PSC Comment Letter to the EPA (pollinatorstewardship.org)).

And here’s the two national beekeeping organizations I mentioned with legislative updates and position statements that may be of interest.

The applications for travel stipends to attend ABF and the “Policy Training for Beekeepers” course I developed earlier this year hasn’t been released for 2025 yet, but I’ll make sure to pass this along when I see it.
